Sarah Bradley - My story

1 min read

I am so so thankful to have found this page! I wound up with peripartum cardiomyopathy during the end of my pregnancy with my second son. They induced me at 34 weeks and I stayed in the hospital for a couple of weeks on a long list of medications. I was released back home and the day we headed back with our son I started going into heart failure. i was transferred to Mayo Clinic in Arizona where i had open heart surgery on March 13 to place on LVAD (left ventricular assist device) on my heart. I am now on the heart transplant list waiting for my new heart

Update: On June 28, 2015 I had a TIA (transient ischemic attack) or "mini stroke" which is symptom of my LVAD landed me back in the hospital for about a week. All my symptoms have gone but now the doctors are having to meet to discuss my case. My antibodies are so high that I have about a 1% chance of matching someone. So now comes the wait to see what they want to do.
